“Still, what I want in my life
is to be willing to be dazzled
– to cast aside the weight of facts
and maybe even
to float a little
above this difficult world.
I want to believe I am looking
into the white fire of a great mystery.
I want to believe that the imperfections are nothing –
that the light is everything — that it is more than the sum
of each flawed blossom rising and fading. And I do.” Mary Oliver, “The Ponds” (House of Light)

Curves ahead
Now this is how you pour your curves into a dress. America Ferrara looks SPLENDID in this hourglass-maker of a dress, about 10 times better even than Olivia Wilde (not an easy feat). Bravo! xox
Notes on Barbados

I feel so grateful to be here. Did you know that Barbados is a coral island? White rocks everywhere. The bluest water I have ever seen. Reggae blasting. Paddle board. Giant sea turtles. Fresh seafood. Surf boards in the back of a pickup. Kriss Kross on the radio. Ice cream. Sea salted lips. Bruises from crushed seashells. Sun-kissed cheeks. A big smile. Lots of kisses from this beautiful island. Cant wait to get back and share my pics with y'all. xox

If you're familiar with this blog, you know that I love Ben Howard (I play him often). This video is so beautiful. I can't stop watching. xox
Standards
I’ve been giving a great deal of thought to standards. Standards in relationship, standards in love. How peculiar that we will hold high standards in our friendships or in deciding our favorite pairs of jeans and yet how we are quick to dismiss them when it comes to togetherness. I never used to have a set list of standards for love. I used to think that my expectations were bound to change as I met different men and thus, that I would be pointless and disappointing to look for particular traits. But the same way, I wouldn’t befriend someone disrespectful, or someone who I thought dull, or who would bring me down, the same way I shouldn’t settle in a lover. Thus, here's a list of things that I want in a lover and that I wont compromise on: kindness, patience, someone taller than me, someone funny, someone who inspires me, someone who pushes me forward (and vice-versa), someone who's honest, someone who's respectful, someone who's nice to strangers, someone who can appreciate curves, someone who doesn't try to change me. What do you want? For your life, for your relationship? xox
