My personal favorite: Mandy Moore's classic band |
So my best friend Dom called me the other day in great despair: Jessica Simpson is engaged and what's more, her engagement ring is in her words: "disgusting". One must understand the level of disappointment that Dom was experiencing: for years, Jess had been one of her idol and had "the nicest wedding ring-ever". And I agree. Jessica Simpson's wedding ring was amazing. I am particularly a fan of eternity rings as they are sparkly, minimal, so elegant and bonus, they ensure that you won't scratch your face or scrap your clothes with a huge rock. But then it got me thinking: what's in a ring? Why does it matter? Is a ring a true indicator of one's love and affection for you? Does a beautiful $100,000 ring screams: I will take care of you forever, be your best friend and wash you when you're old and wrinkly? For me, if I found the man of my dreams, I wouldn't give a crap if he gave me a Cracker Jack ring. I would be so damn happy. Nothing else would matter. And if he gives me a ridiculously wonderful ring? Then all the better; he has taste. ;)
