FNL. Always and always. Have a fantastic week-end my loves. xox

In the bag

Jonesing for this fantastic bag from Toronto-based Opelle. If I'm going to spend that much money, I rather buy it from a local company that "works locally, pays equitably and designs practically". Amen! xox

Forever

Celeste And Jesse Forever, Official Trailer, RealTVfilms from RealTVfilms on Vimeo.

If you are lucky enough to live in NY or LA, and are looking for something to do for the long week-end, walk run to the movie theater and go see Celeste & Jesse Forever. The movie looks so good. Both funny and poignant. Relationships are so hard to navigate and break-ups are never easy to do. But here's the question I have always asked myself: what if the relationship doesn't work out but your spouse is still your best friend and you can't let him/her go? What then? This is what the movie tries to tackled and according to those who have seen it, does so with success. Can't wait to see it. xox

Evening

I have discussed in here my love for Kinfolk Mag and their awesome "evenings" all around the Americas. In fact, I am furious, that I missed the one in Montréal. So when I saw these pictures from the Toronto evening I was in awe. This is how I would like to receive. Nothing fancy. Just good company, good food. Easy does it. Plus, this recipe looks amazing. Must do! xox

Places

So may places I want to see. So little time (and money). My wish for my life is to never lose that sense of wonder and adventure. I want to see it all. And I will. xox

"If you ever speak to me in Spanish, please use the formal 'Usted'".

This is so small. But so excellent. RESPECT. xox

His/Hers

Fall perfection all around. P.s. hey boy! call me! xoxo

In between

Some inspiration from all around the web to get us from one uninspired moment to another full of promise. xox

This photo is very touching to me. So, so perfect. This is what I would like my future to look like. Oui. xox

Bombay Beach

Bombay Beach (trailer) from ro*co films on Vimeo.
I like to see or hear about shocking things. Sounds terrible, right? But I do. Murder, genetic abnormalities that are inexplicable, living conditions...all fascinating to me. I look forward to the culture shock. I love and have always loved to see how other people live. So, as it is oft the case in life, when i stumbled, completely at random (thanks Wikipedia) on Bombay Beach, I knew I had to see it. I had never heard of the Salton Sea before that. I didn't know that there had once been, in the middle of the California desert, a man-made sea and a surrounding resort town called Bombay Beach, that people dubbed "the new Palm Spring." I didn't know (although, i am not suprised at all) that the pionneers of the project let it go adrift. That what was once supposed to be the mecca for entertainment and fun in the sun, is not more than a skeleton today. A small community of, for lack of a better word- misfits still live in these sandy and empty streets. In their dirty mobile homes, there is an abundance of alcohol and ciggies. This seem to be a mere reduction, a cliché. But you don't feel like this after watching Alma Ha'rel's stunning docu-fiction. Her movie is poetic, strikingly beautiful and very touching. These people have been forgotten. Or have, by choice, decided on a life on the margins of society, in a God-forsaken place where dilapidated houses and boat ruins are the children's playground and where the so-called "sea" is slowly becoming no more than a poisonous saline pound. This movie is hard to watch at times but it is visual poetry. I urge you to give it a try. If only for the culture shock. If only to realize that there are still people in America today living like this. If only, to be grateful of your own circumstances. xox

Man on the moon

"Now, Andy did you hear about this one
Tell me, are you locked in the punch
Andy are you goofing on Elvis?
 Hey, baby
 Are we losing touch
If you believed they put a man on the moon, man on the moon
If you believe there's nothing up his sleeve, then nothing is cool" R.E.M, Man on the Moon

Love

Some random photobooth engagement love found on Pinterest. Because we all deserve it. Both the randomness and the love. xox

Covered

Well, since my Blackberry is dying a slow death, I guess I won't have a choice. I will have to follow the hoards and buy *gasp* an iphone (sigh). I am excited for say, Instagram, but drearing the complications that come with advanced technology. The only redeeming thing (because quite truthfully, price is not one) is the nice cover i'll get for myself to protect this life-line. Here are some that have caught my eyes. Any suggestions are welcome! xox

Sabado

A little sabado inspo. xox

Spotted

I've never thought a spotted wall could look so good. But really, how gorgeous is that? Super chic and not tacky, as expected. Corkpops! xox

Mr.

Give me a Mr. Thornton (from the BBC North and South) or a Mr. Rochester (from Jane Eyre) any day over the gangly, skinny-jean wearing and hair conscious metro-male that abound. xox

So am I Michael. So am I. Ps. Not only is Beyoncé an undeniable beast on stage, but she also could be our collective best friend. It is very rare to see so-called "celebrities" being so candid about themselves and their lifes but Bey's I Am does just that. Let's be friends ok, B? xox

Nude attitude

perfezione- perfección-perfection! xox

Finalement

Friday.  Finalement. A little week-end inspiration for you lovelies. Hope it's sunny, full of laughter and Parisian-flair (for no other good reason then this collage reminds me of Paris!). xox

Heaven

I have found heaven and it lies in the deep-dark hole of society's reality TV. I admid it, now and again, I enjoy a healthy dose of non-sense, no-brainer entertainment. What can I say? And so, I LOVE Here comes Honey Boo Boo, TLC's latest gem about a redneck Southern family on the path to pageant fame. Many are unable to watch this show due to...how can I put it mildly, the lack of class and the average BMI of the protagonists. Some watch it to laugh at them, to condemn middle-class America and the South. But I watch it, no joke, because I think they're amazing. They're loud and yes-quite large, they have no manners, they have missing teeth and 0 education but they love each other and are so accepting of one another and of the rest of the world. And I can only admire that. They are also pee-in-your-pants funny self-depreciating and that is so refreshing. So please, watch the show. Or, visit the best tumblr I have seen in a while, the beautimous YOU BETTER REDNECKOGNIZE. DO it. xox

Dose off

Thursday funday! The week-end is just a step away. Friday, you better be good! xox

"I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living, it's a way of looking at life through the wrong end of a telescope. Which is what I do, and that enables you to laugh at life's realities." Theodore Geisel

TD’s Guide to Maine

One of my favorite thing to do is discover new places and share it with people. Not that I am in any way an expert but I love good food, I love to shop, I love to sightsee and as someone who is always in search of inspiration, I can appreciate the info sharing. So I thought I would tell you about the places I’ve been to and would go back to. When you discover a new region you tend to oversee and overeat and once you’ve settled back into reality, you are able to pounder and edit down the best of the best. Here is my best of Maine! Hope it helps!

Portland

A really mellow, seaside city. People are so friendly! I stayed mainly on Commercial Street which is the one directly by the water.

 To eat:

Flatbread: amazing restaurant featuring organic and locally grown ingredients. Super duper hippy atmosphere. Amazing terrase. Delicious grub!

Portland Lobster Co: Live bands and cute terrasse by the water. Tis the place to eat a great lobster with corn on the cob for a cheap price!

 J’s: Higher-end counter-part to Portland Lobster Co.

Two Fat Cats: Amazing local bakery located on India Street, off Commercial. Go super early for their famous Maine Blueberry pie. Otherwise try their raspberry whoopie pie.

 To shop:

Portland Trading Co.: In love with this store which features careful selected vintage and locally-made merchandise. Kazeem is so nice and has a wicked collection of vinyls (not for sale). A must. This is located on Middle Street.

Portland Architectural Salvedge: This is a vintage lover’s paradise. An old house filled to the brim with turn of the century furniture and knick knacks. Which I could have bought everything.

Portland Dry Goods Co: amazing store for men. Cabot Cheeses: free sampling! Cheese galore!

 Kennebunk and Kennebunk Port:

Postard-perfect Maine town. Go to Kennebunk Port early in the am and park directly by the beach. Perfect for watching picturesque sailboats and surfers. Kennebunk is the little town about 5 minutes away. There is a municipal parking ($) but as it is always full, go to the free one down the street.

 To eat:

Clam Shack: Won a food war for their lobster roll. Also the clam chowder is excellent! But…it is a shack so eating outside is the only option (fingers crossed for no rain).

Aunt Marie: Hands down, one of the best chocolate-chip mint ice cream I’ve ever had.

To shop:

Daytrip Society: Amazing boutique full of quirky local stuff.

Best of everything: Bought pearl earrings for 6 $!

 Oguinquit:

Best beach. When the tide is low you have your own private beach if you enter through the boardwalk located next to Anchorage by the Sea resort and walk in the sea to get behind the rocks. Also, the low tide created an awesome river with little current so you can boogy board and catch crabs (the real kind, not the STD).

Portsmouth, NH. Only about 45-60 mins drive to Portland, Portsmouth is a must-see. The city, almost entirely made out of brick is buzzing with cute little shops and restaurants.

 To eat:

Portsmouth Brewing Company: Fantastic burger and artisanal beer.
